Fairlead Aircraft - The Safety Fairlead allows the winch Safety Thimble to be placed in an upright position on the winch fairlead. By having the Safety Thimble in an upright position, this keeps the Safety Thimble from being the front-most part of your Jeep or off-road vehicle.

This is especially good for rock crawlers. Now you do not have to worry about hitting your Safety Thimble on a rock or ledge that you are about to climb. The wire ring is a real bugger to install/remove without having it fly 30 across the shop before it rolls next to a spider under the compressor.

I started using a regular snap ring instead and can use snap ring pliers. Also, safety wire is a good alternative as well. This will make removal easier as well. The plastic fairlead should get a 5 star review.

Safety Thimble Hawse Fairleads

They are nice. The retaining ring should get a 1 star. They are difficult to install, and more difficult to remove. they require dental pics to remove. I replaced all my retaining rings with an external retaining ring, similar to the External Snap Ring.

Product was correct and looks to be good, but 2 of the 6 that I ordered looked to be very old. They had yellowed like very old plastic, I think they will work fine it is that they look like new OLD stock.
